Grace Bible: Our Beliefs
Our Organization
Grace Bible Church is led by Elders, who oversee spiritual matters, and Deacons, who attend to temporal necessities. One of our Elders, Mark Webb, serves as Pastor. We are independent of any denominational hierarchy, recognizing Christ alone as our Head.
Our Beliefs
Grace Bible Church recognizes the Bible, both old and new testaments, as its supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and practice. We offer the following doctrinal statement as an aid to those who ask after our beliefs, but affirm it only insofar as it agrees with scripture:
- We believe in the Divine inspiration of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments and their supreme authority as the rule of faith and practice (2 Tim. 3:16; I Cor. 14:37-38; 2 Peter 1:19-21; 2 Sam. 23:2).
- We believe in the right and duty of private judgment (as opposed to creedal dictates) in the interpretation of the Holy Scriptures (Rom. 14:4-5, 22-23; 2 Tim. 2:15; Acts 17:11; Jn. 5:44; I Jn. 2:27).
- We believe in the unity of the Godhead and the essential Deity of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit (Deut. 6:4; Jn. 1:1; Matt. 28:19; Jn. 15:26; I Cor. 8:6).
- We believe in the incarnation of the Son of God in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, His sacrificial death for sinners of mankind, His bodily resurrection, His intercession and reign (Jn. 1:14; I Pet. 3:18-22; I Jn. 2:1).
- We believe in the justification of the sinner through faith alone (Rom. 3:24; 5:1; Eph. 2:8-9; Gen. 15:6; Gal. 2:16; Hab. 2:4).
- We believe in the moral responsibility of man, the genuine invitation of the Gospel, and the election unto holiness and eternal life of a vast multitude according to God's gracious and eternal purpose (Matt. 11:25-30; Eph. 1:306; Acts 17:30-31).
- We believe in the necessity of the grace and power of the Holy Spirit for the regeneration and sanctification of lost men (Eph. 2:1-10; Jn. 6:44; Phil. 2:12-13).
- We believe in the preservation and the consequent necessary perseverance of the saints in holiness (Phil. 1:6; I Pet. 1:5; Col. 1:22-23; Jude 1).
- We believe in the immortality of the soul, the resurrection of the body, the judgment of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ, with the eternal blessedness of the righteous and eternal punishment of the wicked (I Cor. 15:51-53; Rev. 20:11-15; Acts 17:31).
